Bryant Park is one of the most magical places in all of New York: especially during holiday time. Each year, they set up a winter wonderland, composed of individual booths that are rented out by small businesses from all over! The park becomes even more breathtaking than it normally is, with wreaths, ornaments, and a Christmas tree on full display.
Every year when I go into the city around Christmas time, I am blown away at the awe-inspiring beauty, which means it is the perfect place to take a holiday picture! The number of photos I have on my Instagram feed in front of Radio City Music Hall is too numerous to count. This is by far one of my favorite and most iconic places to take a picture: especially around holiday time!
Besides the beautiful decorations the Music Hall is decorated with each November, if you go at the right time, you may be able to catch a Rockette or two walking out the stage doors! Snap a quick picture with them, and your Instagram feed will love you forever!
4. Metropolitan Museum of Art Steps- New York City, NY
Everyone should have the Blair and Serena moment, and holiday time is no different! Similar to Radio City, the steps of the Met are one of the most sought-after photo-op places in all of New York. The decorations they put up each year around holiday time are simply breathtaking and make for the perfect backdrop.
Along with this, posing on the steps is MUCH easier than posing standing up, so if you’re like me and feel a little awkward in front of a camera, you need to check this spot out!
5. The South Street Seaport- Manhattan, NY
I know what you may be thinking, “A picture by the water? In winter? It’s too cold!”. And yes, you’re right, but trust me, this photo-op is totally worth it. My sister just moved to the seaport and is lucky enough to have the water right outside her front door.
Every time I visit her we walk by it and my breath is instantly taken away. Although this photo-op may not provide you with the essentials to capture the holiday spirit, if you were a cute beanie and have a cup of coffee in hand, you can make it yourself! You also have the Brooklyn Bridge as your backdrop, so if you take the picture at night with the city lights in your rearview, you’ll have one of the most iconic, breathtaking Instagram pictures ever!
6. Any Row of Brownstone Buildings- Brooklyn, NY
If you’re looking for a more quaint photo-op, I highly recommend making the trek over to Brooklyn. In Brooklyn, especially neighborhoods like Dumbo, you will be graced with simplistic cobblestone streets, lined with subtle, yet breathtaking brownstones.
Many New Yorkers take pride in these homes, as they should, and go all out for Christmas and the holidays. If you do make it over there, you should have no difficulty finding a cute brownstone to use as your backdrop. Do this, and these holiday pictures are sure to go down in the history books!
