Summer in the City: Shoes, Shoes, Shoes

If you are at all familiar with New York City, you know there’s a lot of walking involved. You can always take the subway, a bus, a Via or a taxi, but let’s be honest, sometimes dealing with commuting pedestrians and city traffic is just not worth the hassle. Plus, we believe here at AMP3 that the best way to see the city is on foot…weather permitting, of course!

In the summer, however, finding a good shoe to wear exploring, commuting to work, or trekking down Broadway can be a challenge. Especially when you’re looking for comfort, style, and something that will keep your feet nice and cool.

Maybe you want a flip flop but it lacks support, or other times you throw on a sneaker but it’s just TOO hot. Our fabulous staff at AMP3 struggles too, so we’re sharing with you a summer shoe to cool down your day, while spicing up your look!

Alyson Roy, Co-Founder and Lead Publicist: Aside from one pair of block heels I wear for anything formal, I exclusively wear Cat Footwear, and not just because they’re my client. They genuinely keep my feet comfortable and looking good when I’m running all over the city for appointments and ending my day with a networking event or happy hour with friends. I’m a huge fan of the Charade bootie, which is a great ankle height to pair with summer dresses and has deep cut-outs for extra breathability. The Martine sandal/oxford hybrid is also perfect for when I haven’t had time to touch-up my pedicure.

Ashley Lutzker, Sr. Account Executive and Lead Publicist: I just got a new pair of light grey/blue Adidas tennis shoes that I’m obsessed with, and commuting into the office from Brooklyn everyday makes sneakers a must! Adidas also continue to be super on trend for Summer 2018, so they keep me feeling comfortable and looking extra stylish as well.

Rachel Oliva-Valdes, Jr. Account Executive: I really love sturdy sandals for the summer. My go-to this summer is a chunky platform-style sandal from Cat Footwear called Lia. It’s hard to find shoes that are cute and comfortable, but this one checks off both boxes!

Megan Reeves, Jr. Account Executive: I’m obsessed with the Cat Footwear Tiki Sandal! It’s SO cute, comfortable and easy to wear. I wore them so much last summer that I had to buy a new pair for this summer and in fact, I’m actually wearing them right now!

Samantha Grant, College Intern: Right now, I’m loving my Steve Madden beige and black suede loafers that have a pointed toe and the slightest of heels. I can walk all over the city without them cutting into my feet or slipping off. Blisters are a big problem for me but these haven’t given me any trouble!
