SamanthaFood and Beverage, Summer in the City, Travel and Hospitality

Ok, it's time to change things up a bit!  We know that over the past few weeks we’ve been sharing some of our top beauty secrets with you, and don’t worry, there are still plenty more of those to come.  But for today, let's talk about some of the top NYC spots for you to go to, to actually show off your new Summer beauty looks.

While technically you could show off your new looks in a variety of places, from the workplace to the latest brunch hotspot, or even over a weekend spent out in the Hamptons. But here at AMP3, we've decided that the easiest and best place you could go to show of the new you would have to be one of the many rooftops in this beautiful city we call The Big Apple, after all, it is Summer in the city.

Rooftop bars provide everything from delicious food and crafty cocktails, to gorgeous skyline views and numerous photo opportunities (after all, if you don't take a pic, did it even happen?).  So here, we’ve provided you with our list of some of our favorite rooftop bars throughout the NYC, where you can strut your stuff this Summer…and have a marvelous time!

Alyson Roy, Co-Founder & Lead Publicist: Rooftop season is my favorite season! I really like the rooftop at the James Hotel for views of the sunset, and for the more intimate poolside set-up.  When I’m looking for a livelier atmosphere with better indoor and outdoor options in the Lower East Side, I go for Mr. Purple.

Ashley Lutzker, Sr. Account Executive & Lead Publicist: For convenience to the AMP3 office, my preferred rooftop is Magic Hour at the Moxy Hotel. It’s right down the street and very convenient, with delicious cocktails and a great atmosphere.  If you want to find the AMP3 team after-hours, this should probably be your first stop. In general though, I personally prefer hitting up a backyard space over a rooftop, though Westlight at the William Vale Hotel in Williamsburg does have amazing views. (Hey Brooklynites, check this one out!)

Rachel Oliva-Valdes, Jr. Account Executive: The William Vale Hotel has a great rooftop with a stunning view of Manhattan! The drinks are also really good!  If you’re already in the city, I really like the bar at the Moxy Hotel rooftop, Magic Hour. Their bar food is delicious and so are the drinks.  (Well, looks like we know who's hanging out together!!)

Megan Reeves, Jr. Account Executive: Like my co-workers at AMP3, I love Magic Hour at The Moxy Hotel in midtown, super fun vibes and delish food and drinks.  However, if I feel like traveling downtown, I absolutely adore The Bain at The Standard High Line in Chelsea.  You’ve really got to check this one out to see for yourself.

Samantha Grant, College Intern:  I’m new to the city but the one I’m most excited to try is the Press Lounge in Hell’s Kitchen. There's also 230 Fifth, which has a two-level rooftop with impeccable indoor and outdoor views.  They also have a little map pointing out all the buildings you can see in the skyline!

As you can see, this team definitely has their favorites, but there are so many more you can try.  Alternative options include Refinery Rooftop in Midtown, The Crown in Chinatown, Gallow Green in Chelsea, and the Empire Rooftop and Lounge on the Upper West Side.

Missed last week’s Summer in the City post on our best summer nail colors? Don’t worry, we’ve got it for you right here.  After all, you want your hands looking nice when you’re holding that cocktail!

Cheers!!
