Everyone loves a good handbag, it’s the accent piece to your outfit. However, they’re also crucial when it comes to a long day out or a night on the town. It checks all the boxes when it comes to your style, but we know that it’s also your survival kit. Although it may look like the cutest little accessory, it’s also the life savior that we all need. Let’s discuss the key items every woman should have in her bag, whether they come in handy or not!

Pucker Up!

Makeup and Cosmetics

Lips come in all different shapes and sizes, and glosses come in all different shades and sizes! It’s important that every woman has a go-to gloss to keep those lips hydrated and ready to go. A dark red lip or a light pink tint, you can never go wrong! We all have that one color we love, but this spring, spice it up a bit and explore the color wheel. Hydration is key. A lip gloss or lipstick that keeps your lips healthy and moist is the special ingredient to a long-lasting smile. No one wants flaky, crackly lips! Now, pucker up!

Keep it Clean

Hand sanitizer and masks. COVID-19

With COVID-19 still in full swing, it’s important to have a mini hand-sanitizer with you at all times. Stick it in the side pocket or bury it deep at the bottom of your bag, just make sure it’s always on hand. You can never be too prepared for a global pandemic, so even two hand sanitizers wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Let’s face it, whenever you pull that little guy out, everyone around you says, “Oh, can I have some?” and before you know it, you’re onto bottle number two. With the constant hand washing and sanitizing, it’s important to also moisturize. Give your skin a little extra love during the day, while also taking care of her.

Blocking out the Haters

A stylish, reliable and sexy pair of sunglasses is a MAJOR necessity this upcoming spring. Keep it casual with the classic aviator style, or be bold and leave the house with a chunky, thick pair of shades. For those sunny morning’s when you just can’t stand the thought of going to work, block your senses out while doing it in style. From white to black or marble, a decent pair of shades will complete the entire look. Whenever you’re down, just slide them down into the depths of your purse, maybe let them have their own pocket if they’re the real deal.

Great Hair Don’t Care

Every woman should know that you can never be too safe when it comes to those luscious locks on your head. Bobby pins, scrunchies, hair ties, dry shampoo, hair brushes. These are just some of the few major components in keeping your due up to date. You never know what mother nature will decide to do the day of, so us women must prepare for any and all natural disasters. Travel size hair care is important for any occasion, rain or shine. From pony tails to frizzy freak outs, you never know what when your locks will turn on you so it’s always important to be prepared.

The Munchies

Let’s face it, when you’re on the go or at work the only thing you’re thinking about is food. While breakfast is technically the most important meal of the day, I think it’s safe to say that most of the time, we tend to skip it. Not because we want to, but because there’s no time. So, it’s crucial that you have a little something something with you to keep up that energy. A granola bar, a bag of chips or even a candy bar, whatever satisfies you. Aside from keeping that energy up, no one likes a hangry girl, it’s a sight no one deserves to see. I wouldn’t wish my hangry self upon my worst enemy, so make it an effort to always have that little snack hidden somewhere in that dungeon of a purse.

While I’m sure there’s always going to be more things you can find to stuff into your purse, these are just some of the basics. You never know when disaster might strike in the fashion world, so always be prepared with other essentials such as bobby pins, safety pins and maybe even a travel size sewing kit if you’re feeling it. If you’re anything like me, your purse is cluttered and unorganized, but on the outside, you’re the one making head turns with your fashion statement of a handbag.
