On the morning of October 3, 2019, AMP3 and Crossroads PR hosted a New York City press preview event for our client, Spirit Halloween, the largest Halloween specialty retailer in North America. With over 1,300 locations around the country, Spirit is a one-stop shopping experience for Halloween lovers, offering everything from costumes, to decor and party goods, to accessories, in addition to being an all around fun event experience for shoppers.
Halloween Influencer Event
Held at their flagship store on 5th Ave, AMP3 hosted over 30 attendees at this NYC influencer event. Attendees were able to get a personalized tour and immersive experience of the wicked-chic decor of the store and a sneak peak of this year’s hottest costumes. Attendees included micro and macro influencers and editors from WWD, Thrillist, The Knockturnal, etc.
This event was produced to not only showcase all the spooky accessories, and specifically, the 2019 costume trends from the hits Fortnite and Stranger Things, to Pennywise and Baby Shark. Attendees were able to check out the collections which spanned across two floors of the store, and they could have their pick at any costume for their upcoming Halloween festivities. The influencers enjoyed complementary food & beverage, interacted with scary animatronics throughout the store, and had the opportunity to sit down one-on-one with a palm reader to get this season’s predictions.
Sharing on Social Media
Many influencers, who AMP3 invited to the event, expressed interest in collaborating with Spirit for the upcoming Halloween season. As big fans of the brand, they were interested in featuring Spirit on Instagram covering various costumes and trends. As a result, Spirit received over 50 unpaid posts and stories from NYC influencers sharing their unique experience both at the event, as well as during their Halloween festivities.
Giving Back: Spirit of Children
During the event, attendees were also given the opportunity to donate to Spirit of Children, Spirit Halloween’s giveback program; a program focused on making hospitals less scary for kids and their families. Partnering with the Child Life department at more than 140 hospitals around the country, Spirit’s goal was to raise a record $10 million this 2019 season! Attendees could giveback at the event, or contribute after with other customers whether it be at their local Spirit Halloween or via Facebook and Instagram using #SpiritofChildren and #MoreCowbell in your photos.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an event without a little swag! Guests went home with a goodie bag of spooky treats including socks, snacks, and other Spirit accessories.
