New Jersey is home to many AMP3 employees, both who were born in state and to those who reside there now.
Just a short ferry, drive, or NJ Transit ride away from NYC, the state also provides an escape from the bustling city, whether it be to the up & coming town of Hoboken right across the Hudson River, a drive down the famed Jersey Shore, a tour of the MetLife Stadium – home to two NFL teams and countless sold out concerts, or a hike through the Appalachian trails in Northwestern NJ. The Garden State is vast, so we’ve broken down a short guide of our 3 favorite regions to share top spots and activities with you.

The Skylands Region, the state’s highest point, features some of the best of the outdoors. Hike the full 72 mile New Jersey stretch of the Appalachian trail, visit the Lakota Wolf Preserve, or tour the Pequest Trout Hatchery. With hiking, fishing and camping in the warmer months, and cross-country skiing, snowboarding and ice fishing in the winter, there’s something for either individuals or the whole family!

Next, we have the Gateway Region, one of the most popular regions in the state. From views (and easy access) of the NYC skyline, the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island, to New Jersey’s biggest mall in Paramus, to the Botanical Gardens and state’s official 9/11 Memorial, this region is packed in culture & history. It’s also the easiest area for a daytrip out of Manhattan!
Finally, we have the Shore Region, or as you know it The Jersey Shore. Featuring 90 miles of white-sand beaches lined with roadside stands, lighthouses, and more. Long Beach Island is perhaps the most well-known beach area, but we also love Island Beach State Park for fishing & bird watching and Sandy Hook Lighthouse – the nation’s oldest working lighthouse. If you’re there in the summer, you must check out the New Jersey Sandcastle Contest.
We hope you enjoy your travels to the Garden State!
