Top 3 Social Media Mistakes Brands Make (Video Part 3 of 3)

Social media has broadened connections between people and as communication shifts, brands have to grow and adjust. The current shift in how audiences socialized has allowed for brands to directly interact with their audience and create personal connections.

Interacting like a human being is a must!

However, a number of brands continue to utilize outdated marketing and advertising tactics. A number of companies create beautiful and engaging content and they think that it’s enough to be successful when ultimately it’s engagement is that drives success.

In this third episode of our #Amplified 3-part series “Top 3 Common Mistakes Brands Make,” we discuss the assumption that beautiful content can stand alone without any brand engagement.

“Content is King, but Engagement is Queen”

We hear all the time how “Content is King!” and while it’s true that uploading quality content is essential to attracting followers to your pages, it is not enough. Content may be King, but Engagement is Queen. You cannot have one without the other and expect to see amazing results.

Audiences will engage with content through comments, shares, tags, and likes. Each engagement, especially comments or posts, is an opportunity for a company to grow in a number of areas such as exposure, reach, presence, and ultimately, brand loyalty.

Whether comments, shares, or tags are positive, negative, or neutral, interacting with as many of them as possible is key to social media success.

Platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook are the new customer service and your customers have access to your brand in a way they never had before. Addressing customer service issues or positive reviews/comments/posts with one-on-one responses will make your audience feel connected and cared for in a more personal way.

Engaging with your audience is one of the best and most important ways to grow your business using social media.

Social media might be digital but it is still social, so interacting like a human being is a must!
