On Thursday, July 19th, the AMP3 PR team hosted a group of eager college students from around the New York City area to attend our second annual CAMP3 PR boot camp.
Attending students were studying PR, marketing, and communications, and ranged from freshmen to seniors in college. CAMP3 was designed to enhance their previous skills and knowledge in those fields through mentorships, guest speakers, group activities, presentations, and discussions.
The Specifics:
14 college students were chosen to participate in this year’s CAMP3 day-long event, an increase from last year! The program was held at out office in SPACE 530 right in the heart of the Garment District.
Students sat in on sessions about traditional and digital media, the art of pitching, social media hacks, and the keys to event planning, all of which were taught by members of our AMP3 team.
In addition, they had a NYFW crash course and a group case study activity to get a hands-on approach to see what we do in the office.
The Speakers:
Attendees were able to participate in a teleconference with Intern Queen’s Lauren Berger to gather important, stand-out internship tips. They also participated in two Q&A’s: one with influencer and tastemaker Melanie Sutrathada, and one with the style & beauty editor of SELF Magazine, Jessica Cruel.
The Sponsors:
A day is not complete without food and fun treats! Our food sponsors for the event included breakfast by The Doughnut Project, lunch by Dos Toros Taqueria, and a yummy afternoon snack by Insomnia Cookies.
Each student also received “CAMP3 Survival Kits” with notepads from Rifle Paper Co., a free pair of shoes from CAT Footwear, beauty products from Derma E, books from Intern Queen, and stickers from PR Couture.
We had a very successful event and we’re looking forward to next year’s in hopes of inspiring more next-generation industry professionals and leaders!
