This winter, a festival of lights came to New York City joining the ranks of Rockefeller Center and The Rockettes as one of New York’s must see and do holiday experiences.
LuminoCity took place on Randall’s Island, spanning over 16 acres of spectacular, larger than life art & light installations for teens, adults, and families to enjoy. Guests were able to purchase tickets both ahead of time and at the festival, and were could enjoy holiday shopping, food & drink, activities, and performances during their experience.
Press Preview Event
With opening day on November 23rd, AMP3’s goal was to build awareness and buzz leading up to the ceremony, bringing in influencers and media, to check out the dazzling lights. The night prior to the opening ceremony, AMP3 hosted a press preview event before the public had access, and invited out various broadcast and digital media outlets to view the festival.
Through these initiatives, AMP3 was able to secure media placements in TimeOut, Secret NYC, Telemundo, Fox, New York Post, USA Today and more, showcasing the cultural elements, BTS production, family activities, food vendors, and other exciting features.
During the sold out opening ceremony itself, attendees were able to experience a whole program of events from musical performances, to remarks from the city council and the founder of LuminoCity, to a Christmas tree lighting. Of course, there wasn’t a dull moment with endless photo ops, delicious treats, and festive mocktails.
Capitalizing on the excitement with everyone attending, AMP3 hosted various media outlets during the event as well, to capture this immersive light show.
LuminoCity Festival ran from November 23rd 2019 to January 5th 2020, and was the first-ever lights festival held on Randall’s Island.
