Following the success of our inaugural PR boot camp last Summer, we’re excited to announce the return of our second annual “CAMP3” PR Boot Camp!
Designed to mentor college students in the New York City area, who are interested in PR, marketing, and communications, this “give-back” program will introduce students to the real world of fashion and lifestyle PR.
The CAMP3 boot camp will be held on Thursday, July 19 at our Midtown office within Space 530, and will run from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. This complimentary event will teach industry best practices, include guest speakers such as influencer Melanie Sutrathada, and the Intern Queen, and teach the do’s and don’ts of pitching and working with the media, both traditional and digital.
We’ll be covering topics including social media tips, how to succeed at an internship, a Q&A with the AMP3 co-founders, and we’ll hear from other AMP3 PR professionals. To top it off, we’ll be holding a New York Fashion Week crash course…always a fan favorite!
Hoping to take away the cut-throat stigma that surrounds fashion PR, AMP3 will provide students with a nurturing, educational, and inspiring space to learn both from us and each other.
“At last year’s event, our campers expressed their eagerness to pursue PR because it’s a goal-oriented career,” said AMP3 co-founder Alyson Roy. “We were so inspired by how driven and hard-working these students were and firmly believe that millennials are worth investing in.”
Thanks to an overwhelming response, the selective application process will bring in 15 to 20 career driven students (nearly double the number as last Summer) to participate in the day’s events. They will be treated to breakfast from The Doughnut Project, a delicious Mexican lunch from Dos Toros Taqueria, and afternoon treats from Insomnia Cookies. In addition, each student will receive a “CAMP3 Survival Kit,” which will include a tote bag & pen from our client Cat Footwear, notebooks from Rifle Paper Co., books from The Intern Queen, a fun sticker pack from PR Couture, face masks and hand cream from our client Derma E, and much more!
