The opening reception for ModulA.R.T., the inaugural portfolio by A.R.T., was celebrated last night in Brooklyn. The event was held at the A.R.T. Pop-Up Store at 81 Front Street in the DUMBO area and welcomed over 100 guests. Guests had the opportunity to touch, feel, and rearrange the modular pieces while being treated to wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres generously provided by the neighborhood’s favorite caterer: Bubby’s of Brooklyn. The A.R.T. Pop-Up Store will run through April 18th and will display several ModulA.R.T. installations.

ModulA.R.T. by A.R.T. is the first fully-customizable and co-creative modular art collection. The modular aspect allows the art to be pieced together in an infinite number of ways, literally putting the creativity in the hands of the buyer. The collection is designed by artist and architect, Donald Rattner, and includes 3 lines: Wall A.R.T., Mural A.R.T., and Shelf A.R.T.

ModulA.R.T. allows the buyer to take part in the artistic process by providing the ability to constantly add or subtract modules to a particular installation. This allows the work to grow and change over time, and be an ongoing, gradual art investment. The collection was designed to fill the gap between the high and low-end in modern art and offers a unique approach to acquiring and appreciating fine art.
