RECAP: Cat Footwear Presents “Second Shift” feat.Youngblood Hawke
Cat Footwear held a runway show and concert on February 18th, at Vinyl in the Hard Rock Hotel. It launched the Fall/Winter 2014 lifestyle collection during Magic Market Week in Las Vegas. The event featured a runway show, which showcased a mix of 44 new men’s and women’s styles. The brand, which is most widely recognized for its footwear in the work sector, used this as an opportunity to show off it’s more fashionable side for Vegas-bound press, buyers and retailers.
The show focused on Cat Footwear’s lifestyle collection, which includes the re-launch of their iconic work boot, the “Colorado Boot” for Fall 2014. The Colorado boot has been around for over 20 years. With work-wear serving as a major fashion trend this season, the brand is launching this signature silhouette in bright new colors for men (red, blue, green, and orange) and new textures for women (pony hair, metallics, studs, and leopard print).
The crowd was also treated to a live performance by Youngblood Hawke. The band performed the final song during the runway show and then transitioned into a high-energy set closing with their hit song, “We Come Running.” The band, who epitomize Cat’s fashion consumer, rocked out in Cat Footwear on stage including the Colorado, Morrison, Vinson, Abe and Alexandria boots. RECAP: Nolcha Fashion Week: New York 2014, Presented By RUSK
Nolcha Fashion Week presented by RUSK in New York city wrapped up the AW14 season at Pier 59 Studios in Manhattan, featuring thirteen different designer runway shows.
Trend-setting celebrities who were looking to take in some refreshing talent this season, and came out to support independent fashion design included: Jennie Garth (90210), Kelly Rutherford (Gossip Girl), Zendaya (actress/singer), Elliott Sailors (womenswear & menswear top model), Kat Graham (Vampire Diaries), Derek J (Bravo’s Fashion Queens), Kristen Taekman (Real Housewives of New York), Pia Pizza (Mobwives), Jeremy Jackson (Baywatch), Frank Ferrer (Guns & Roses), Morgan O’Connor (model), Brittany Mason (model), Krystle Joy Brown (Broadway’s Motown), Katie Rose Clarke (Broadway’s Wicked), and HRH Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark.
The 3pm solo runway show featured ready-to-wear designer Katty Xiomara, who previewed her new “Peanuts Played by Katty” collection, which was inspired by the Peanuts characters (Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the gang). Celebrity supporter, Jennie Garth, returned for the second season in a row to see Katty’s show firsthand.
The 5:30pm collective show featured Nolcha’s “Ones To Watch” designers, each debuting 10 looks on the Nolcha runway. Participating designers included: Naveda Couture, Christina Yi, Riza Manalo, Maison de Papillon, Gail Be Designs, and Christian Benner.
The closing show at 8:30pm featured 5 designers returning to Nolcha Fashion Week: Jungwon (designer men’s and women’s rain coats and outerwear, featuring footwear provided by Cat Footwear), Gabrielle Arruda (women’s ready-to-wear), L. Catherine London (women’s ready-to-wear), Nina Athanasiou (women’s and men’s couture), and Dany Tabet (jaw-dropping eveningwear).
Nina Athansiou’s show featured gender-bending female top model, Elliott Sailors, who modeled both womenswear AND menswear from Nina’s collection on the runway. This was Elliott’s first season doing both womenswear AND menswear within the same runway presentation.

AMP3 PR Adds Launch NYC To the Client Roster
This February 5th-12th, Manufacture New York will hold their inaugural Fashion Week called “LAUNCH NYC Fashion Week” at a 5000 sq. ft. pop-up space on West 17th Street. Manufacture New York is a fashion incubator that provides factory facilities and business support to the next generation of independent apparel and accessory designers in New York City.
Aimed at reinventing New York Fashion Week, the event will feature innovative runway shows, combined with a retail pop-up store (where fashion week goers can buy from their favorite designers immediately) and a wholesale showroom (for private appointments). Runway, retail & showroom will all be in one space. The core criteria for participation will be that all brands are manufactured domestically.
AMP3 PR will be handling front of house for the collective runway shows on Wednesday, February 5th. The shows will feature a range of designers from the MNY incubator during 2 shows, at 2pm & 6pm respectively. All brands are made in NYC.
Launch NYC was launched in partnership with photography, video and consumer electronics retailer Adorama.

Nolcha Fashion Week Announces February 2014 Designer Lineup

Nolcha Fashion Week: New York presented by RUSK, has announced its’ official calendar of events for February’s Fall/Winter 2014 New York Fashion Week, which continues to attract attention as an alternative venue to the tents at Lincoln Center. This season’s events will run February 10th – 13th, 2014, including individual and collective runway presentations, an exclusive bloggers brunch, fashion lounge, networking events, and an official fashion week closing party.
Continuing into their seventh consecutive year, and held simultaneously with Mercedes-Benz Fashion week, Nolcha is one of New York’s leading platforms for global independent fashion designers, showcasing over 20 designers this season.
Wednesday, February 12, will serve as the main day of runway shows, to be presented for the fourth season in a row at the illustrious Pier 59 on 18th Street and the West Side Highway. Shows will take place at 12:00pm, 3:00pm, 5:30pm, and 8:30pm. The Nolcha Fashion Lounge hosted by Modalyst will follow on Thursday, February 13, at Empire Hotel Rooftop, from 1:00pm-5:00pm.
Presenting brands range from Katty Xiomara (ready-to-wear) to Dany Tabet (couture), with other returning favorites including:, Jungwon, Nina Athanasiou, and Leka. First time runway designers include Christina Yi, Christian Benner, Gail Be Designs, Gabrielle Arruda, Maison De Papillon, Marco Hall, Naveda, and Riza Manalo.
