Krunch Pizza Bar – Case Study

AMP3pr was involved in all elements of launching this upscale pizzeria in Midtown East.  We took their modern vision for pizza and highlighted its originality in any and all positioning and promotions amongst the press.   We developed the Krunch press kit, designed to capture everything that made the new venue note-worthy, and we strategically approached key food critics, reviewers, and tastemakers in the industry. We also planned and implemented a private press dinner, where VIPs in the food world from such publications as New York Magazine, The Times, Time Out, Daily Candy, and Eats Magazine (to name a few) dined on complimentary pizza & fine wines. Ultimately, we secured food reviews and restaurant listings in many of the above publications, and increased the overall foot traffic and awareness of the restaurant.

Press Clippings

“This is the newest spot to hit the Midtown scene and will no doubt become a fast favorite with the massive lunch crowd in the area. The pizza is square, a good size, and very Krunchy. The Bianchi Krunch is wittily named, containing the double-entendre of self-description (it’s a white pizza) as well as homage to one of the owners, Chris Bianchi. Furthermore, it is absolutely delectable – a combination of ricotta and mascarpone cheese atop a crispy, but not too thin crust, anointed with a hint of truffle oil. If you’re looking for something with more of a healthy vibe, in addition the refreshing salads on the menu is the zucchini pizza – mixed with just the right amount of parmesan, it gives your taste buds (and your waistline) a wonderful break from the usual post-pizza guilt. Even better, if you just don’t feel like pizza, the pasta options are equally as good – very surprising for a small, sleek looking place like Krunch. The orecchiette with broccoli rabe and homemade sausage will blow you away and makes Babbo look like an amateur.”

Opening tomorrow, Krunch says their square slices satisfy both discriminating diners, and fat ones: they use top-notch ingredients (prosciutto, fontina, truffle essence, etc), but their pizza’s far more substantial than typical gourmet thin crust — so instead of getting an $18 party cracker, you’ll enjoy a stomach-exploding feast.
