Nolcha Fashion Week: New York announces September S/S 2015 designer lineup and new, larger venue
Nolcha Fashion Week has announced the official New York City calendar of events for it’s September’s SS15 fashion week. This season’s events will run September 6th – 10th, 2014, and to accommodate the growing interest in independent fashion design, the runway shows will take place over the course of two days (September 8th & 9th) at a brand new, much larger venue this season: Eyebeam Atelier.
Continuing in their seventh consecutive year, and held during New York Fashion week, Nolcha is one of the city’s leading platforms for global independent fashion designers, showcasing over 20 designers this season.
Presenting brands include: Katty Xiomara, Rinate Brodach, Mariana Valentina, Monstruosite, and MIMI Tran, including menswear with wearable tech. Nolcha’s “Ones To Watch” collective runway show will feature hot emerging brands including: Sofia Arana, B’VENAJ Designs, Gregory Apparel, Oiselle, JBurgos, and Charles & Ron.

Eyebeam Atelier is located at 540 West 21st Street between 10th & 11th avenues. Shows will take place at 6:00pm and 8:30pm on September 8th, and at 11:45am on September 9th.

RECAP: J Summer Runway Show at the top of New York’s Freedom Tower
On June 26th, history was made when AMP3 PR client Cat Footwear took part in a unique runway show put together by J Model Management on the 63rd floor of the soon-to-be-opened Freedom Tower at One World Trade Center in NYC. This event not only marks the first runway show at the Freedom Tower, but it is also the first major event in general to be held in the already iconic building.
The fashion show featured 8 participating designers, but Cat Footwear was the only American brand and the only accessory brand on view. For the show, Cat Footwear featured 15 looks from their upcoming Fall14 Collection, 7 women’s and 8 men’s. The Fall14 Collection will be available for consumer purchase in August 2014 at www.catfootwear.com.
Immediately following the runway show, French Chef Sebastien Pourrat and his team from Cocotte SoHo prepared canapes and beverages for a VIP cocktail reception and networking hour.
One of the major questions of the night, repeatedly asked by the media in attendance, was why each brand chose to participate in this unique event. For Cat Footwear, the Freedom Tower represents strength, rebuilding and resilience, and the Caterpillar brand is all about building communities and skylines with a strong, rugged attitude. As such, it was really an honor for Cat Footwear to show their collection in a building that will become the most iconic skyscraper in America’s skyline. It was especially fun and fitting to have the construction men in their hard hats leading guests into the building and up the elevator.
J Model Management is a global fashion show organizer led by Jessica Minh Anh, who specializes in producing history-making catwalks at the world’s most iconic venues. Past shows have included: over the Grand Canyon, atop the London Tower Bridge, and at the Twin Towers SkyBridge in Malaysia.

RECAP: Cat Footwear Presents “Second Shift” feat.Youngblood Hawke
Cat Footwear held a runway show and concert on February 18th, at Vinyl in the Hard Rock Hotel. It launched the Fall/Winter 2014 lifestyle collection during Magic Market Week in Las Vegas. The event featured a runway show, which showcased a mix of 44 new men’s and women’s styles. The brand, which is most widely recognized for its footwear in the work sector, used this as an opportunity to show off it’s more fashionable side for Vegas-bound press, buyers and retailers.
The show focused on Cat Footwear’s lifestyle collection, which includes the re-launch of their iconic work boot, the “Colorado Boot” for Fall 2014. The Colorado boot has been around for over 20 years. With work-wear serving as a major fashion trend this season, the brand is launching this signature silhouette in bright new colors for men (red, blue, green, and orange) and new textures for women (pony hair, metallics, studs, and leopard print).
The crowd was also treated to a live performance by Youngblood Hawke. The band performed the final song during the runway show and then transitioned into a high-energy set closing with their hit song, “We Come Running.” The band, who epitomize Cat’s fashion consumer, rocked out in Cat Footwear on stage including the Colorado, Morrison, Vinson, Abe and Alexandria boots.
